Michiel Janssen is the Chief Compliance Officer of Foundation Wealth Partners. With well over a decade of experience in investment management, Michiel brings broad array of investment knowledge and institutional discipline to the firm.
Prior to joining Foundation Wealth Partners, Michiel spent close to ten years at one of Canada’s largest privately owned investment groups, Connor, Clark & Lunn (CC&L). Here Michiel first started working with Portfolio Managers at CC&L’s Private Capital group in servicing Canadian high-net-worth families and foundations. In his next role as Vice President at PCJ Investment Counsel., Michiel also worked with institutional investors such as pension funds, investment funds, and family offices across Canada and the US. At PCJ, Michiel led its client servicing and business operations, was its head trader, and was responsible for a variety of compliance and internal control functions. Michiel also developed PCJ’s Responsible Investment program and successfully launched a new investment strategy.
Most recently, Michiel supported Foundation Wealth Partners at its technology service provider Purpose Advisor Solutions (PAS). PAS is a new, modern wealth management company designed to bring together the best of new financial technology with personalized advice and create the digital tools to help advisors succeed in the next generation of financial advice.
Michiel holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Management & Development from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands and is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM). He and his wife Kristen have two little girls who love to spend their time in nature, and in his spare time he is an avid runner and cyclist. He was born and raised in The Netherlands, is active in the Dutch community in Toronto, and sits on the Board of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Canada (EUCCAN).
